Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Toronto, Ontario

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, an employer must prepare and review at least annually a written occupational health and safety policy, and must develop and maintain a program to implement that policy [clause 25(2)(j)].

SafetyON helps organizations develop effective policies and procedures that are compliant with legislative requirements and demonstrate due diligence. These policies and procedures are developed by a Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

1. Health and safety legislation

Organization or businesses employing 5 or more employees must possess a written health and safety policy. This policy must include a general health and safety statement along with procedures to implement the policy.

We can assist you in developing policies and procedures to help report accidents, confine space, internal complaint resolution process and other hazards that may exist in your workplace. Our guidance will ensure that you meet all legal requirements. We can also help your business develop a framework for reporting and investigating “near-miss” events. Recording such events can help create procedures that will help employees remain careful in the future.

2. Risk assessment

We will guide you on developing policies and procedures for Risk Assessment and guide you on how to carry out such an assessment.

3. Templates

We also provide customized Health and Safety templates for organizations to make use of when developing their own respective policies and procedures. We have organization specific templates for Risk Assessment Policies, Health and Safety Policies, Hazardous Materials Management Policies and more.
